This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm, starting in September 2026. The role is ongoing and offers an excellent opportunity to become a valued member of the school's administration team.

About the Role
- Provide efficient administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.
- Act as the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and visitors, delivering a professional and welcoming service.
- Manage pupil records, attendance and admissions using the school's management information systems.
- Maintain accurate records and process confidential information in accordance with GDPR and school policies.
- Support senior leaders and teaching staff with general administration, correspondence and document preparation.
- Answer telephone and email enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Assist with safeguarding administration, including maintaining accurate records where required.
- Carry out general office duties including filing, photocopying, scanning, data entry and ordering office supplies.
- Support the organisation of meetings, school events and examinations where required.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience working within a secondary school office or similar educational environment.
- Have essential experience using Arbor, SIMS and Class Charts.
- Be confident using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Have excellent organisational, communication and administrative skills.
- Be able to prioritise a varied workload and work effectively in a busy school environment.
- Have a good understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and GDPR.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Provide details of two recent references covering the last five years of employment.
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one as part of the registration process.
- Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy all compliance checks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the school's Reset Room, providing a calm and supportive environment for pupils who have been removed from lessons due to behavioural difficulties. The role will involve helping pupils to regulate, reflect on their behaviour and prepare to return to learning.
The successful candidate will work closely with the school's pastoral and teaching teams to support positive behaviour and maintain a consistent approach across the school. They will need to be confident managing challenging situations, using appropriate de-escalation and behaviour management strategies, while building positive and respectful relationships with pupils.
2 × SEND Teaching Assistants

Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for 2 dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to work on a full-time basis in a supportive secondary school in the Burnley area.
These are long-term positions starting ASAP, initially running through to October half term, with the potential to extend beyond this date for the right candidates.
The successful candidates will have strong previous experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and will play an important role in supporting key pupils to access learning, develop confidence and make positive progress both academically and socially.
Learning Support Assistant (SEMH)

Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant (SEMH) to work on a full-time basis in a supportive Secondary school in the Accrington area.
This is a long-term role starting in September 2026, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will have experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and will play an important role in helping pupils develop emotional regulation, positive relationships and readiness to learn.
